ASTROHN Technology Ltd. and All-Russian Scientific Research Institute for Physical-Engineering and Radiotechnical Metrology cooperating against terrorism

In June-August of this year, specialists of ASTROHN Technology Ltd. and scientists of Moscow Region All-Russian Scientific Research Institute for Physical-Engineering and Radiotechnical Metrology (VNIIFTRI) held a number of working meetings. VNIIFTRI is a state scientific metrological institute that carries out activities to reproduce the national time scale and reference frequencies, conducts fundamental and applied scientific research, experimental development. For ASTROHN Technology Ltd., these meetings became part of a series of meetings on the implementation of the transport security project, together with the transport security department of the Moscow Metro State Unitary Enterprise.

The participants discussed the possibilities and state of affairs in the development of a through-type non-contact device, which will automatically detect dangerous objects in a constant stream of visitors and display their position on the human body. Today ASTROHN Technology Ltd. holds one of the leading positions in the development and implementation of advanced technologies and innovations in Russia, and have already implemented many technical solutions in projects to protect the infrastructure of critical facilities.

The parties agreed on the need to make a model of a microwave radar system designed to obtain images of objects hidden under a person’s clothing. The system should be characterized by a large throughput (avoiding the need to stop for inspection), the possibility of using the system to protect ground transport and crowded places. A positive result of the study will lead to an increase in the efficiency of the detection system with high sensitivity and selectivity, which will lead to a reduction in cost and simplification of the design.

Based on the results of the work performed, the parties intend to continue working to improve and refine the system and issues of serial production. The parties agreed to sign a cooperation agreement at “Army-2020”.
