ASTROHN Technology Ltd developed IR mirror-lenses for the long-wavelength IR spectrum (8-14 µm) and launched their production.

IR lens technical specifications

Lenses can be used with 384×288 and 640×480 detectors and 25 and 17 μm element.

Currently, two IR lens models are designed and ready for use: OZL-100 mm / 1.1 and OZL-200 mm / 1.1 with a focal length of 100 and 200 mm, respectively. The developed lenses are “athermal”, i.e. keep focus settings when changing the ambient temperature in a wide range: from -40 to + 60ᵒС. Thus, a surveillance system based on these lenses can operate around the clock and all year round without the need for focus adjustment.

A significant advantage of these lenses is the lower cost of materials in comparison with lenses and, therefore, the cost of the lens itself. The use of a mirror-lens optical scheme for lenses with a large focal length (100 mm or more) allows increasing the lens aperture while maintaining its mass-dimensional characteristics. At the same time, the cost of the lens remains affordable.
