In the Vladimir region, a poacher was detained, who equipped his home-made long-barrel shotgun with a thermal imaging system of ASTRON-2A railway security thermal imaging module, which he stole from the railway.

In December 2016, police detained a 23-year-old resident of the city of Kovrov in a forest near the village of Simontsevo, Vyaznikovsky district, during a raid against poaching.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Vladimir region, the man had a home-made firearm with him when going to pull off a job in the forest. It is noteworthy that the smart poacher equipped his long-barreled gun with a thermal imaging surveillance system, which consists of two components assembled in a plastic bottle and the associated electronics of the stolen ASTROHN thermal imager.
